Money Master The Game – A Review
I was recently re-introduced to the newest Tony Robbins book, Money Master the Game. The sub title is “7 Simple Steps To Financial Freedom”. I say re-introduced because I already read it once last year but I didn’t digest it fully. The part I choked on was the realization that this book was written for me. Here’s the deal. Whether you like it or not, money lubricates our world and makes it go round and round and if you don’t understand the fundamentals, you are, well to put it mildly, screwed.
(BTW If you click on the link I gave you above, you can get a free copy, no strings attached, direct from Tony)
Money Master The Game is the layman’s bible for financial management, freedom and security.
It’s Not Really About Money
Growing up, I always thought money was important. That’s partially because we didn’t have any. I always heard my mother talking about money NOT growing on trees and all the other financial non advice many of us absorbed in our youth.
But the reality is it’s not about money. It’s about lifestyle. It’s about being able to do the things you want, with the people you want, when you want. It’s about contributing to society in a meaningful way whether it’s helping the little league or saving an elephant in Africa.
Growing up, Tony didn’t have any money either. He knows what it is like to be hungry, to have no food. In his wisdom, Tony brings hope to the masses that we can all build a life of our dreams and achieve real financial freedom. But you gotta know the rules and few of us do. Money Master The Game gives us the rules that we need to play by.
The Sad Reality
We have been lead astray most of our lives into thinking that 401k’s are good, buying a house is an investment and brokers work for us. Tony dispels many of the conventional myths surrounding money.
For example, in Money Master The Game, Tony explains that only a very small percentage of 401k’s ever “beat the market”. He also dispels notions about whose interest most brokers really have at heart (hint, it’s not yours) and why even small fees will erode your nest egg intolerably. He gives examples of the negative impact of hidden fees and offers strategies and solutions even the average investor can implement
The 7 Steps
Tony has interviewed 50 of the best, most influential financial managers in the world and distilled their wisdom into a practical guide for you and me to follow to financial freedom. In Money Master The Game, Tony presents a 7 step strategy for financial success. Not surprising step 1 is DECIDE! Decide to become an investor, not just a consumer, and begin to structure a financial future that will serve you well.
Obviously the younger you are, the better off you are but there are no age restrictions on this program. The principals involved apply at any age and any income bracket and will serve you well to becoming financially free.
Progress Equals Happiness
In the end, Tony teaches us to recognize the ultimate gift – the commitment to be wealthy now, not someday, by appreciating and being grateful for all we have now and to build on that success. “Progress equals happiness. Life is about growing and giving.”
I need to be clear that home based business is NOT part of Tony’s book, Money Master The Game. It is however part of my life and strategy and I want to give you, my reader, the opportunity to dig a little deeper with me into this phenomenal opportunity so I am linking to another blog post I recently wrote on the subject. For many of us, this is the ultimate route to escape the “rat race”.
