For example consider the following ad. “Very limited and preliminary scientific evidence suggests that eating about 1Tbs of corn oil daily may reduce the risk of heart disease due to the unsaturated fat content in corn oil.  FDA concludes there is little scientific evidence supporting this claim.  To achieve this possible benefit, corn oil is to replace a similar amount of saturated fat and not increase the total number of calories you eat in a day.”

This gobbeldygoop is from a Mazola corn oil commercial claiming corn oil is better for you than olive Oil. it’s absolutely RIDICULOUS what is being marketed to us as healthy. The truth they don’t mention in their commercials is that corn oil is highly refined, hexane-extracted from GMO corn, and loaded with omega-6 fatty acids that are unstable when exposed to heat. This instability causes oxidation, a process that generates free radicals. Free radicals are renegade molecules in the body that damage cells, triggering a host of diseases from liver damage to cancer.

Food Fraud

Food fraud is the deliberate mislabeling of food products for financial gain with the intent of deceiving the consumer regarding what is actually in the package. The United States Pharmacopeial Convection (USP) reports that these acts of fraud have increased by 60 percent over the last year alone.

Food fraud is important because The biggest concern is obviously harming the health of the consumers. In other words, the consumer may not be able to tell what they are eating until it is too late.

Cancer and Disease

I have previously written about the challenge of healthy aging in America. See my blog post by that name.  http://lenmooney.mlspsites.com/healthy-aging-in-america/.    Many doctors get little or no training in homeopathic medicine and most cancer doctors know very little about cancer.  Your doctor has little or no idea how to prevent disease or how to treat disease holistically. It’s not their fault.  They are good doctors with poor training. All he/she knows is how to prescribe what the drug companies want sold today, the drug de’jour.

I know this is hard to believe, but the medical profession has been hijacked by the big drug companies.  The drug companies fund research, sit on the board of directors at major teaching hospitals and universities and ensure that what is taught complies with what the drug companies want taught.  And unfortunately, the drug companies have no interest in curing you, They do not intend to prevent disease.  They are interested in lifetime customers.  The more pills they push, and chemo they sell, the more profit they make.  Sadly, one of the most profitable areas of business for the drug companies is cancer: It is big business! (The global cancer therapeutics market should reach $172.6 billion by 2022 from $121 billion in 2017)

Now imagine I have a cure for cancer that is natural.  Problem is the drug companies cannot patent natural and therefore they would lose all that revenue.  Now remember, these are publically traded companies and they have a legal fiduciary responsibility to their shareholders to turn a profit.  Your health, longevity and well-being take a back seat to the primary mission – profit!  Big pharma does not want to prevent disease. In addition, did you know that your doctor gets a “kickback” from the drug companies for prescribing chemo therapy?  In any other industry, this would be illegal.  Furthermore, he or she is forbidden to prescribe any other form of therapy under the threat of losing his license, or even arrest and incarceration.

Dr. Veronique Desaulniers D.C. who was diagnosed and treated her own Breast Cancer holistically states, “You must heal the entire body, heart, mind, spirit, stress, soul”.  Dr. Veronique is featured in the documentary series  “The Truth About Cancer: A Global Quest”  You can catch her views on breast cancer in episode 2. She further states you have to be sick to develop cancer, your immune system is compromised, you are toxic, stressed out you have a loss of control.  As one doctor said in the video, “The Truth About Cancer”,  “You get sick (immune system fails) and then you get cancer”. So there are two problems when your doctor tells you they got it all. One is they can’t “get it all” and 2 is the inderlying cause has not been addressed.

Further Dr. Veronique in her 7 point system for preventing and curing cancer states that food is your medicine.

Well if food is our medicine why aren’t we eating healthy nutritious food?  Simple, the food industry is shoveling lies down your throat literally.

One of the biggest frauds perpetrated on the American public (my opinion) is the low fat, non fat “healthy alternatives”  artificial food.  The industry has removed fat that your body needs, and substituted chemicals and sugar to return flavor.  Imagine what it takes to make a soy bean taste like a hamburger.

Then to add insult to injury they sell you omega 3,6,9, tablets because you don’t get enough of these healthy fats in your diet,  Imagine!

So let’s take healthy fats out of the food, substitute white refined sugar which is a known poison and carcinogen, put in some artificial flavor and color, call it food then sell pills with fat in them because we took the out of the food,  HHMM Makes sense  right?

Look it is really quite simple, the disease rate in America is skyrocketing and the causes are obvious to all except the perpetrators who are happily profiting from your demise.  The challenge we face us twofold

1 the government appears to be complicit.

2, The effects are cumulative and take a long time to rear their ugly head,

Organic Food

When you choose organic food, you’re eating food with less (or without) pesticides. The whole basis of organic farming is to produce organic food without the need to use toxic pesticides.   Crops are managed in a way that prevents the need to use chemicals.

When produce from farms has been tested, organic food has far less pesticide residue compared with conventional (non-organic).  By eating organic food you can significantly decrease your exposure to pesticides!

According to consumer reports, “Organic is a strictly regulated term, so you can trust that you’re getting produce grown with minimal if any synthetic pesticides

Many of the pesticides used on conventional farms are hormone disruptors, neurotoxins, or reproductive toxins which are strongly linked to many diseases and health issues:

  • Cancer
  • Alzheimer’s
  • Parkinson’s
  • Type 2 Diabetes
  • Obesity
  • Food Allergies
  • Autism
  • Infertility

Pesticides are even MORE damaging to children because their metabolism is different than adults and toxins remain longer in their body.  The damage starts in the womb! See the video “Ten Americans” by the Environmental Working Group. EWG President Ken Cook shares shocking information about how babies are born pre-polluted with as many as 300 industrial chemicals in their bodies.

Now you wouldn’t pour your child a bowl of cereal, then reach  under the sink, grab a bottle of weed killer and give the cereal a few squirts would you?  That is in effect what you are getting.  Now the food industry argues it’s only parts per billion so it doesn’t matter.  If you believe that you really need to watch the documentary 10 Americans mentioned earlier.  Taken from the above video, “10 Americans”  Cialis is effective at a low dose of 30 PPB, while Nuvaring is effective for prevention of pregnancy at  0.035 PPB and a typical dose of paxil might be 30 PPB.  So clearly parts per billion matter.

Further in our food it appears they accumulate over sustained periods of time.

Mislabeling Food

Food mislabeling is rampant.

I have been told multiple times by uninformed people that they use all natural and organic foods and products so they are good.  Sadly, nothing could be further from the truth.

Natural and Organic Are Not Defined Terms

The words “natural” and “organic” have no defined meaning by any regulatory or government agency that I am aware of.  They are strictly defined by the marketing department of the company using them.

An example of food mislabeling  comes from the use of the word “natural flavoring”.  Ahha so you might think that if it is natural it must be good right?  Well you decide!  It could be both natural and disgusting.  In many foods, especially vanilla, strawberry and raspberry ice cream, natural flavoring refers to a substance called “castoreum”.  So you might thank that sounds ok!

Now what if I told you that castoreum is a slimy brown substance secreted by a gland in the anus of a beaver and is used to mark its territory.  Would you believe me?  Well it is true.

Foods that contain castoreum include Raspberry flavored candy, strawberry/vanilla / raspberry ice-cream. It’s also used in alcoholic beverages, baked goods, gelatin, pudding, soft candy, frozen dairy, hard candy and chewing gum.

This is unfortunately only the beginning.  For example “natural contaminants” generally means rodent parts such as rodent hair which is found primarily in boxed macaroni and cheese and peanut butter.

Human Hair From Barber Shop Floors in China?

What do McDonald’s, Dunkin’ Donuts and Burger King all have in common? Besides being extremely unhealthy, they all use L-cysteine as a food additive. This amino acid extends the shelf life of products like bread. It is usually found in cow horns, chicken and duck feathers. Unfortunately, most of the L-cysteine that is used in food does not come from either of those ingredients. It comes from China, where it’s harvested from human hair found in barbershops and hair salons.

So the next time you order a quarter-pounder with cheese just know that you are eating human hair from the floor of a barber shop in China.  Ugh! Sorry that make me ill just thinking about it.

What’s The Solution?

There really is only one solution and that is to go organic as much as possible.  The food industry has been self-regulated since the 1930’s and clearly cannot be trusted to keep the best interests of their customers in mind.  This blog post doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface of the contaminants in food.  Also the chemicals in personal care products such as shampoo and toothpaste are outrageous.

We, as a society, are simply and tragically overexposed.  The food and personal care industry is conducting the biggest experiment ever done in human history and you are the guinea pig.

Read your label and get familiar with what is happening.  We have control via our wallets.  We vote with our dollars and if we stop buying this stuff, it will disappear and, as that happens, prices will come down for the good stuff.  It’s called supply and demand, you learned it in economics 101.
